Whether you are a renter trying to understand your lease or a landlord navigating the responsibilities of property ownership, one thing is true for everyone: knowledge is the most powerful tool you can have. And on Tuesday, October 27, PARTNER NJ and a coalition of Perth Amboy’s most trusted community organizations are bringing that knowledge directly to you.
The Rental Expo 2026 is a free community event designed to give tenants and landlords in Perth Amboy the expert guidance they need to navigate one of the most important aspects of daily life — housing. The event will be held at ZPA Banquet Hall, 281 Grace Street, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM, and is open to all Perth Amboy residents. Childcare will be available for children ages five and older, so there is no reason to leave the kids at home.
What You Will Learn
The Rental Expo is not a lecture. It is a hands-on, resource-rich evening where you can connect directly with experts and walk away with real answers to the questions that matter most to you.
Topics covered at the event include tenant and landlord rights, credit readiness and budgeting, code enforcement and housing standards, the importance of renters insurance, and rental assistance programs available to Perth Amboy residents. Whether you are behind on rent, dealing with a difficult landlord, trying to understand what your lease actually says, or looking for ways to protect your property as a landlord, there is something here for you.
And as a bonus, every attendee will have the chance to enter for a chance to win one full year of renters insurance — a prize that could provide real peace of mind for any Gateway Neighborhood family.
Why This Event Matters
In the Gateway Neighborhood, more than 80 percent of residents rent their homes. For many families, their rental housing is the most significant financial relationship in their lives. They depend on safe, stable housing to raise their children, hold their jobs, and build their futures. Yet many renters do not know their legal rights, and many landlords are not fully aware of their obligations. This gap in knowledge can lead to avoidable disputes, unsafe living conditions, and in the worst cases, displacement.
PARTNER NJ has been working for more than 30 years to ensure that Gateway Neighborhood families have the tools and support they need to achieve and maintain stable housing. The Rental Expo is a natural extension of that mission, bringing expert voices and practical resources directly into the community.
