Artist bio/statement:
Joy Velasco (born 1997) is an illustrator from New Jersey who aims to illuminate the written word of both herself and of others. Whimsical and playful, her often colorful works are easily distinguishable. Velasco manipulates digital media to create a textured, traditional feel whilst also incorporating animated GIFs. She works in editorial and children's media illustration.
